What Is ADHD Testing and Management?
ADHD, short for attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, typically begins in childhood and often persists into adulthood. Recognizing ADHD symptoms and seeking appropriate support is crucial for success in educational settings, professional environments, and daily life. Common challenges associated with ADHD include difficulties with concentration, disorganization, poor time management, and struggles with academic or occupational performance. At Serenity Mental Health Centers, we acknowledge the profound impact ADHD can have on an individual's ability to remain motivated. Our mission at our San Antonio, TX facility is to empower patients to reclaim control over their lives through detailed ADHD assessments, diagnostics, and personalized management strategies that align with their unique needs and lifestyles.
How Is ADHD Diagnosed and Treated?
When diagnosing ADHD, our initial step involves conducting a comprehensive ADHD assessment, incorporating tools like the computer-based QbTest, in-depth conversations, and an examination of your medical history. Once a diagnosis is established, we'll explore treatment options tailored specifically to your circumstances. Our commitment is to assist our patients in regaining control of their lives through customized treatment plans designed to meet their individual requirements. Based on a detailed evaluation of your medical and mental health history, your treatment may encompass prescription medications, various therapies, or a combination thereof, ensuring a holistic approach to your care.
What Can I Expect After ADHD Testing and Management?
After ADHD testing and management, you'll gain a clearer understanding of your condition and receive a personalized plan to meet your needs. The assessment process typically includes detailed interviews, questionnaires, and cognitive tests to ensure an accurate diagnosis. Based on the results, a customized management plan may involve medication, behavioral therapy, lifestyle adjustments, and educational support. Ongoing follow-up appointments will help track your progress and make necessary changes to your treatment. With adherence to your plan, you may notice improved focus, reduced impulsivity, and better organization, leading to a higher quality of life and enhanced daily functioning.
What Are the Benefits of Professional ADHD Testing and Treatment?
- Clear Understanding: We take into account all aspects of each patient's diagnosis and medical needs to ensure their treatment plan provides the ideal solutions and optimal outcomes.
- Help Just for You: We do not believe in one-size-fits-all with ADHD treatment and will assess the personal needs of each patient and situation before recommending a management plan.
- Better Life Quality: Our goal is to help every one of our patients attain a high quality of life through ongoing treatment while teaching ADHD management and coping skills.
- Guidance Along the Way: Treatment doesn't end with a prescription. Part of our interventional psychiatry approach is to guide each patient through their diagnosis in order to help them manage their ADHD moving forward.
ADHD Testing and Management Reviews
Dr. Lundmark is the absolute best! I've had a lot of improvement since seeing him. The staff is always so welcoming and helpful. I did TMS here and it was a great experience. I definitely recommend!!
From the moment I entered the office to the moment leaving the office I felt so cared for! The psychiatrist Erik is awesome & very knowledgeable about my mental health! I’m so glad he was able to help me.
I’m so glad to have found Dr. Lundmark! Actually, all the Serenity staff members have always been kind and helpful. Dr. Lundmark is very easy to talk to, and actually respects my input regarding my treatment. That was not the case with multiple doctors I’d seen in the past. I absolutely recommend Dr. Lundmark and Serenity for anyone searching for a mental health practitioner.
Mental health is never a fun subject to have to come to terms with or understand but with Serenity, Victoria my TMS tech and Dr. Norman I have come to know that life is better when we allow ourselves to heal, and use the resources available to get help. This year I reached my lowest low but with the support of serenity and my TMS treatments with Victoria, I was able to learn healthy coping mechanisms, grounding techniques, how to be nicer to myself and helped every day tasks not feel so heavy. I cannot begin to express the gratitude, appreciation and admiration I have for Victoria and how she pours her heart into everyone she encounters, I truly believe the companionship she offered brought me back everyday, we laughed, cried, complained and reflected on my life a lot together. Even while Victoria was on a much deserved vacation Ash was an absolute ray of sunshine to encounter. I never doubted I was in good hands at Serenity, everyone is so personable, helpful and caring for their patients wellbeing. I do and will continue to recommend Serenity, TMS, Dr. Norman and Victoria to anyone I know who could benefit from their services.
My first meeting with Dr. Lundmark was great, he was thorough and eager to get me started on a treatment plan for my ADHD. The staff is all nice and the whole process is pretty efficient.

Who Is A Candidate for ADHD Testing and Management?
Individuals who might benefit from ADHD testing and management are those who consistently show symptoms like inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity, impacting their daily life or normal functioning. This includes children who struggle in school with focusing, staying organized, or following instructions, as well as adults who have difficulties with time management, restlessness, and maintaining focus in their work or personal lives. Testing for ADHD is recommended when these behaviors are consistently observed over time and across different settings. Additionally, a family history of ADHD or related learning and attention issues can make someone a strong candidate for assessment. Managing ADHD effectively typically involves a combination of behavioral therapy, lifestyle changes, and possibly medication, tailored to the individual's specific needs.
